History

In early 2004 the beginnings of what would become the World Gaming Order were born when a lone gamer picked up a copy of Star Wars Jedi Outcast. The multiplayer experience of Jedi Outcast led this gamer to move forward with the sequel - SW Jedi Academy. History would soon be made as Jedi Academy pushed multiplayer online gaming to new limits and led to the WGO's very first game server - the Jedi Battle Arena. Starting off with one little server partnered with a free website and free forums, a small group of friends came together and started a very modest gaming community. These friends had fun playing Jedi Academy daily and attracted even more to their community from around the world. In 2005 this small group started to branch out into new games with new servers. One of these new servers was for the free multiplayer game of Wolfenstein Enemy Territory.

With the launch of Wolfenstein ET, this little gaming group took a huge step forward. A small group of friends quickly turned into a very large collection of gamers who enjoyed both Jedi Academy and Enemy Territory, not to mention making a home for everyone around the world to enjoy - great public game servers. During this time, these friends decided to start calling themselves the World Gaming Order as their community was moving forward each and every month. In late 2005 the newly formed WGO would expand again with the launch of Star Wars Battlefront 2. The Jedi Battle Arena was born into Battlefront 2, and from the very first day, the WGO's public server went to #1. Battlefront 2 brought in even higher numbers of new friends to this community and helped take the WGO to new levels of popularity in the gaming world. Five years and many other great multiplayer games later, the WGO continues it's mission to provide great public game servers for everyone to enjoy. The friendships that were formed from a lone server continue to push this community forward. The WGO has always been about friends at it's heart, and always will.

Registration / Membership

Here at the World Gaming Order, we welcome anyone (well, almost anyone) that wishes to fight or frag alongside us. Becoming a WGO "member" is as simple as registering in the forums, and participating in community activities on occasion. We ask prospective members only of a few things, as outlined below. Please take the time to read everything thoroughly.

  1. Player History -- Anyone (age 18+) wanting to join the WGO will have to pass a FULL virtual backround check. We want clean players only. By registering on the forums, you authorize WGO to perform this backround check. If you have ANY record of cheating/hacking/modding a game (or otherwise using a game in an unfair way), you will be denied immediately and shown the door out (so to speak..). If at any point after acceptance into WGO you are caught with a game violation, administrative action will be taken depending on the circumstances of the situation. Assuming you don't have any game violations to date, this is the easiest condition of membership to meet. Don't cheat!
  2. Teamwork -- WGO wants team players, and not just from a gameplay perspective. Obviously any time spent with the WGO is spent best if you own the same game(s) we play and/or host. With that said, we like seeing members play alongside us ingame, while using teamspeak! This isn't mandatory, but it makes any gaming experience a whole lot more fun! One of the other challenges we have as a gaming community, is ensuring our game servers keep running smoothly. How can you help? Easy! We ask that as a member you *try* to give our servers priority when playing online. You don't need to pitch a tent and camp 24/7, but if you feel like playing a game or two, go see if our servers need a jumpstart! If you want to help the WGO financially (server costs, etc.), how about a friendly donation!?
  3. Fun -- After all, fun is what it's all about.
